...despite what this comic seems to imply. (Although, today aside, I do tend to be full of big ideas and a lot of hot air.)
(Both related and unrelatedly, it was a pretty big day for Press 34, and we'll likely have something in our shop in December!)

It's Hard to be Married to Someone So Talented.
Hello! Those of you who know or have worked with my husband Jason know how difficult it is to get him to produce, and how frustrating that is -- because he's so ridiculously talented. His random, unconscious doodles are works of art. (I'm biased, but I'm also pretty sure this is true.)
Anyway, one way to get him to do something is to do it myself, and to keep doing it. (Case in point: 5Ks.) At any rate, I am proud to present his first offering to this blog, hopefully the first of many:

Our fish are jerks.
Birthdays are a BIG DEAL to Amy. If you've ever mentioned the date of your birth to her, she has committed it to memory and thinks about it whenever she sees those numbers together. For example, if your name is Kyle and your birthday is on April 19, Amy will say "Happy Birthday, Kyle!" anytime she sees the numbers 4/19. It's weird. (In fact, Amy might even chime in on this post to let us know if anyone we know has a birthday on April 19th! Amy?)
The birthdays of her nieces and nephews are of particular importance to her, and she likes to celebrate them by taking each kid out on a one-on-one (or two-on-one if I'm able to join) "birth date." We've taken Vera to see a movie, we took Marie to Jungle Java, and this year, Amy decided that she'd take Lucy to the pet store. Somehow it was decided that Lucy would get to pick out three fish and name them. These fish would live in our apartment, which meant that we'd also have to buy an aquarium. It is worth noting that I played absolutely no role in this decision making process.
End result:
Lucy had a great time, and we suddenly have a few more mouths to feed in our home. Amy drew a comic about it:
Come over and see them! (Please be advised that our living room now smells like fish water.)

File Under: Registry.
Despite what my middle school art teacher -- who did not let me into Advanced Art -- thought, it turns out that I, for the most part, can draw. Which is to say, I can finally beat back that demon that's been dogging me since seventh grade, when I felt GOOD about drawing and then suddenly felt BAD about it, and I can do it, and things are at least recognizable.
Hey! One of the "fun" parts of this blog will hopefully be watching me learn how to draw things, like myself and my husband and our cats and stuff. Buckle up, here's my first go!
